Benchmark on fair use policies for mobile broadband in Europe (Updated May 19)

19-05-2017

Cullen International’s updated benchmark shows that an increasing number of European operators offer unlimited data plans. This is the case in five of the eight countries studied: France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and the UK.

The full benchmark has been published in the scope of our Consumer Protection service and shows for mobile broadband on a smartphone:

  • the highest monthly usage limit offered in each country;
  • what happens when the limit is reached (speed reduction, extra charge etc.);
  • how end users are informed when they are nearing the limit; and
  • whether tethering is allowed by operators.
