Regulation Made Simple

[Infographic] EU Telecoms Review: European Parliament and Council positions

The European Parliament and the Council have engaged in informal trilogue negotiations to reach an agreement on the draft European Electronic Communications Code (EECC) and BEREC Regulation.

The aim is to reach an agreement by June 2018 the latest. The trilogues are initially focussing on spectrum and access issues, turning to end user rights and institutional issues later.

To clarify the main issues under discussion, Cullen International has prepared an infographic showing the positions of the European Commission, Parliament and the Council on the main topics.

The overview covers:

  • Access
  • Spectrum
  • End user rights and universal service
