FCC adopts net neutrality rules, this time reclassifying ISPs as common carriers

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the US telecoms regulator, on February 26 adopted a new Open Internet Order. To enable the imposition of strong non-discrimination rules, the FCC also reclassified fixed and mobile broadband providers as ‘common carriers’, enabling their regulation under Title II of the Communications Act of 1934.
