International comparison of regulation of consumer IoT January 2019 Commissioned by: Internet Society (ISOC)

Cullen International has developed a study, commissioned by the Internet Society, comparing the regulation of consumer internet of things (IoT) products and services in different regions of the world.

Consumer IoT refers to internet-enabled consumer devices and services across a broad range of categories both within and outside of home settings. Examples are home security/monitoring/control (e.g. security cameras, thermostats, home appliances), personal health and wellness monitoring (e.g. fitness trackers), transportation (e.g. connected/autonomous cars) and internet-connected children’s toys.

 

The geographical areas covered include Africa and Middle East (Senegal and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries), Americas (Argentina, Canada, United States), Asia-Pacific (Australia, China, Japan, Singapore) and Europe (European Union, France, Germany, United Kingdom).
